It might be obvious but, Did you push the zoom ring forward to expose the words "POWER ZOOM"? It was fine on the K-7. I'll probably have popped it back to manual zoom.
Might be incompatible thread link.

Thanks I've been looking at forum but I missed that. Yes I pushed it and still no sign of work. Even if so, still produce a bit better quality then my 28-80/3.5-5.6

Probably Power Zoom is not supported on these cameras. It was dropped a long, long time ago.
Best regards, John

Not sure John, as K200D supports SDM then it should theoretically power the PZ function - the only features that can't be utilised are Image Zoom Tracking, Zoom burst etc that were enabled on Z-series cameras

The instruction book will tell us as it still lists whether or not PZ is supported.

The power to the zoom motor is intact and works on the K-7. (I just tried it). As PW says PZ functions are a different kettle of fish.

I don't own a K200D John
Thanks to the net it states that PowerZoom is NOT supported on the K200D, not even when PZ lenses are attached. This also applies to the Km and presumably the Kx/Kr. Which surprises me, but according to Pentax Bob Dimitrov is wrong in this case...but it's the same mount, so I guess the electronics don't support it.

Ok, thanks for that still lens is worth to have it But I'm wondering if in body i have 2pins which I guess it's to support PZ, as they fit to pins on lens. Thanks one more time for helping with this.

Did anyone ever try K200d and powerzoom? At link says that K200D should work with Powerzoom, unless I didn't understand it. Thanks for help.
