And a double Hooray from me, the chance to turn off dark frame NR may well be the one thing that makes me buy a K5.

And has the K-x does also, it's likely that the Kr may too, except that it may not get as much fanfare.

Maybe Gwyn can give it a little Hooray just for you

Not having owned any of those, and not having really looked at the specs on them I didn't know.

I am just happy that my next camera has it.

The dark frame NR off switch is the real hooray for me though .

Now who's going to get it in stock soon? Chris?????

Looks fab, hope the AF really has improved as much as they're saying. Having recently decided that any new purchases must be funded by sales of old stuff (bet you've all heard that before!), I'm already plotting what lenses I will dispense with to afford this thing!
Tim
AF - Pentax K5, Sigma 10-20/4-5.6, Tamron 17-50/2.8, Sigma 30/1.4, Sigma 70-200/2.8, Tamron 70-300/4-5.6
MF - Vivitar CF 28/2.8, Tamron AD2 90/2.5, MTO 1000/11
Stuff - Metz 58 AF1, Cactus v4, Nikon SB24, Raynox 150, Sigma 1.4x TC, Sigma 2x TC, Kenko 2x macro TC, Redsnapper 283 tripod, iMac 27”, Macbook Pro 17”, iPad, iPhone 3G

Feel free to edit any of my posted photos! If I post a photo for critique, I want brutal honesty. If you don't like it, please say so and tell me why!

Looks like it has most of the answers, but as far as I am concerned, it's the auto focus and sensor quality improvements that are key.

Now - who is going to be the first to buy one - test it - then let us all know if it's worth the £££

What is the advantage of that
On current Pentax models take a long exposure, and the DFNR kicks in which ties the camera up for an equal time, also if you are doing long exposure interval shots you have to double the time between shots. So trying to say take 40 shots of 60 seconds each over an hour cannot be done.
Other brands allow you to take 1 or 2 dark frames during the session, thus speeding things up.

heard there is some talk of using sensor to "Tune" the sensor position to specific lenses????
does that mean the sensor now shifts forwards and backwards to get rid of front/back focus?
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

TM infringement When the next gen camera has the "Optimus Prime" engine, with funky colors and ability to transform into a model car?
