Maybe the concern is that the 4Gb and 8GB Extreme versions of the SDHC cards are at the forefront of the SDHC range now........
My Ultra II 4Gbs are more than adequate on my K10D....there is some talk that the writing speed of the SDHC cards are not as fast as the SD or CF cards......someone will confirm I am sure.....
I'd stick with Ultra IIs

The reviews of the extreme 2gb cards I've seen are all complimentary, did the Pentax guy know it was Sandisk, and not just some generic brand with "XTREME performance (honest)" in the name?
If the camera says it supports SDHC, any cards brought out should comply with the standard and be compatible, although I guess it's possible a firmware update may be needed if they didn't expect such large cards to be used.

Very much an amateur.

You are so right. During the hooha of the release of SDHC we were led to expect all sorts of super fast performance. Not so. Little if ANY faster than UltraX 150x - doubtful compatibility.

I'm using the 2GB Exteme III cards. They are very quick! No problems at all. Don't feel I need bigger cards - more images to lose if something goes wrong.

Has anyone had a bad (or good) experience using these new cards? I'm asking because a Pentax technician earlier cautioned me about the "extreme" cards.
Thanks.
