PS I think you guys Chris/George love winding me up
Dear fellow members

More like the other way around. Here we go again, another three pages of garbage on what used to be, before last January, always intelligent dialogue. Do a search on all petekd's topics and notice there is a theme here.
Help, help, I'm in a breathless rush, here's my latest goofy idea, then 3 pages of people honestly trying to help him out, then Pete's reply of; you guys are all A-holes, and finally; OK I'm sorry and won't do it again.

This whole thing is a scam to evoke a response. Mattmatic had the right idea when he said he was not going to answer him anymore. I don't either and this is directed to everyone except him. So please don't reply to this Pete, I already know what I am.
Dear Drew,

With regards to your request above I think you are being very unfair and basically out of order asking people not to reply to my threads. I have never tried to offend anyone intentionally least of all your good self. All my threads are not of the same theme and have as stated by many been quite useful hence the pages that have followed. George who makes very personal attacks on me knows nothing about me, my life or my past. He does base his opinions and abuse on what I write but that is in no way justice for his comments. Sometimes I write things people may not like far play but no one is perfect. Yes I apologise why I don’t know when I myself have never received one apology ever from George and one or two others who have at times offended me.

One thing you seem to forget is although my threads my be asking for help and not always what some might call valid they dont deserve verbal personal abuse . Its pathetic to say the least. My problem is with one person who really throws QUOTE " personal attacks at me. My response is made as a result of this and you don’t see me attacking anyone else in replies I make in other folks threads.

The problem to me is not the type of answers I get but more the way they are put across with real attitude at times. Many seem to forget this is a supposed to be a help forum which means help whether you think the question is relevant or not. If you dont like the question dont answer it, it really is that simple.

All this came as a result of my asking for advice on a second camera thats all !!! Does one have to be that careful what one rights nowadays.

Finally I ask of one thing are we all photographers with love and passion of what we do or something else ????? Im beginning to wonder with certain people here.

The thing is, although (a) it's not nice to be told one is immature, (b) it's very easy to react in an immature way to being told so (especially if one is), and therefore (c) George was a bit ill-advised to put it that way, nevertheless, everything George said was, in fact, true.

Pete goes at the whole photography thing like a bull in a china shop, doesn't take advice, and doesn't show any evidence, here at least, of thinking anything through.

It's much more a case of him not liking the advice he gets, rather than people not giving the help in the first place.

The way I see it, it's his attitude that puts people off giving the help.

Pete, maybe you should re read some of your postings. They do come across as quite agressive and angry at times, seemingly for no reason. You do tend to start off on a rant and things do then escalate. With your last thread you were bound to get some replies that would upset by suggesting you were going to get a Nikon as a second camera, instead of, as I think you intended, asking for advice on whether to get a second body, and if so what.
The problem with the internet is that we cannot see you or hear you, so we can only go by what you write. Your threads can be very exasperating at times. That some people respond to that in the way they do is to be expected to a certain extent, that others show the patience they do with you is to their credit.
Maybe if you were to take a deep breath before starting a thread, and were to think through what you want to say a bit more you would get better, more helpful responses. Your typing, spelling and grammar (a not e Pete ) would improve too, making your posts more readable. Read them through before hitting the submit button. Correct them, look at the tone of them, do they say what you really want to say? It will take you maybe a minute longer, but could save a lot of hassle fror everyone.

Thanks Gywn

That's a very constructive reply I will take note of your ideas. It seems a womans touch (or reply) is whats needed

Pete - I'm sure you're a nice guy in the real world however your posts on here sometimes don't paint you in a particularily good light and therefore in future you might want to consider either not replying immediately to a post you think upsetting or perhaps typing your reply then pausing for reflection and review before pressing the submit button. The moderators on here have shown considerable tolerance with bad language and insults in your previous posts and I think perhaps you could reward that by focusing more on photography issues and rather less on the personal stuff.

If you want to reply directly to an individual poster then you can do so privately without sullying the forum with nonsense such as this thread. If you've got issues with posting made here then I'd suggest notifying the moderators directly with the nature of your complaint.

All the best

For goodness sake, pack it in.

Pete, there is a PM feature for this type of thing, use it.

What EXACTLY does this thread have to do with Pentax DSLR's????
Answer . . . absolutely nothing.

This forum is for discussing all things Pentax DSLR, as its name implies.

This used to be a site apart from all the others where users seem to enjoy slagging each other off more than they enjoyed their chosen hobby or career.

I don't want to read any more threads like this.

We try to be tolerant, but this is now closed.
