Better images? No. They use the same sensor so all else being equal the images should be too.
Better handling? Yes. Twin control wheels, more external controls and brighter pentaprism viewfinder means the K10 should be a more pleasant and intuitive shooting experience - which may, of course, lead to you getting the better images you mention...
Used values will depend very much on condition but expect £250+ for a half decent one.

I have read arguments that the K200's image quality is better than the K10D's, or even the K20D's, thanks to newer technolgy and processing in the camera, regardless of what the sensor itself is like.
Anyway, a K10D/K20D/K-7 would be more enjoyable for the reasons Hefty mentions.
Used K10D bodies currently sell for around £280 + postage on eBay. The K20D is physically very very similar to the K10D, though costs a couple of hundred quid extra for the higher resolution and more bells and whistles. Yes you would want one!
The K-7 is of course much more expensive as it's still relatively new, though there will soon be a £100 Cashback offer. Unfortunately I bought mine just before I discovered this!
Top be honest, I think I prefer the K10/20D's ergonomics to the K-7's - especially regarding the right-hand grip and the buttons and dials. The speed, power and features of the K-7 are marvelous, though.
