I'm not surprised at that, I am a Pentax user because of PPs comparison between entry level SLRs, I bought my first Pentax, the MZ7 on the strength of one such review where the MZ7 sounded the best deal, despite the fact it didn't score as high as its C&N counterparts.
EDIT
Dont know if anyone saw this but AP recently did a comparison between the K7 and the D300, the D300 won simply because of its faster AF but the K7 did have lots of praise heaped on it with a a definate thumbs up as a good buy for anyone not worried about AF speed.

Well I am more than satisfied with my K10, so I am not surprised the K7 was judged as best advanced dslr.
The older I get the faster I was.
