Without straying into what has already been extensively covered on the "af point" displayed issue, can the forum explain what the difference, if any, is between setting the af point to the centre and selecting spot :

P117 of the manual states

Spot Sets the focusing area to the center of the viewfinder.

So, spot is centre

Usually 'spot' generally refers to the metering mode whereas 'centre' refers to the central autofocus point.

It would seem the manual is confusing
