eems to echo my thoughts on it really, the grip is too small but other than that it's not a bad little camera, except for the video bit, I have never and never will buy a camera for it's video spec but appreciate that some do, that being the case I don't think I could see a reason to look at a pentax at all?
Cheers Jules...

No and I find that frustrating. My father in law is about to start looking for a new camera and wants a DSLR. I'd love to recommend a Pentax - we could share lenses for one - but he takes a lot of videos and I just couldn't inflict that on him.

I don't take them myself but I've had a play just to see if, in any way, my K-30 could take good videos with minimum of fuss but the answer is a very firm 'no'.
K30; DA35 2.4; DA50 1.8; A35-105 3.5; Sigma 70-300 F4-5.6 APO DL; M 80-200 F4; 18-55 WR Kit; Sigma 24-70 2.8

Regardless of camera body hardware specs; megapixels, video, etc...

The items that are the best things about this camera body; the name and the PK lenses will bring more people into the longterm Pentax/Ricoh plans. At least in theory.

Sure this entry level camera is at the opposite spectrum from camera bodies such as the K3, but... If someone picks up and uses this entry level camera, and then adds some more Pentax glass onto that... Chances are they just might be a long term Pentax user, and they might just advance upon that in purchasing some more serious Pentax items.

Please let there be no K-S2, one is more than enough. I agree that the specs are good and it maybe offers good value but i hope Pentax only take one or two things from that body and then ditch it.
Yes, i hate it.

Ignore my comment above. I don't hate the K-S1, just mildly disappointed they thought the lights were worth the R&D investment and manufacturing costs. Yet missed off other features that may have attracted people to the camera.
