You hit the return key a lot faster than I did! Even though it's a different link.

I think it will come down substantially. I think it will end up costing about the same as the K-x. Right now it's not far off the K-7.

Quite a detailed review. Compares with the Kx, and talks about the improved AF system etc.

Basically its a Kx with the annoying niggles fixed - hurrah. Pitty it won't be cost-effective to swap my Kx for one, so I'll jump straight to the K5 and keep the Kx as a second body.

Anyway, this feature could be amusing for Pentax User Meetings if it starts to spread across all their bodies :

Quote:
Perhaps slightly more unusual is an IrSimple "matching game," in which characteristics of images can be compared between cameras, and unspecified algorithms used to rate which image the cameras consider to be the "best" -- sort of a modern equivalent of Top Trumps

It really does appear to be an excellent camera.
However:
It will only be here, when it appears in the shops...

Is anyone else toying around with the idea of changing to this from the k7? I'll wait for the k5 specs before i decide anything.

but the k-r seems to be the k-7 with better high iso, but lacking weather sealing, and cheaper.

or perhaps i should just concentrate on taking photos, and buy a new camera in a couple of years...

Very interesting. A very high quality back screen. Dual power capability should satisfy all users. Very high fps. A back panel that looks just like my new X90, so moving from one model to another will be very consistent. The focus point indicators were inevitable.

Looks excellent and should help to take Pentax onwards and upwards with no problem.
Best regards, John
