I've always held the belief that the best 2nd body you can have is the same as what you've already got!
The controls are the same, you can set it up the same, batteries, grips all other accessories etc. are the same, nothing new to learn etc.etc.
The 2 models you mention only have the 1 control wheel, whereas the K10 has 2. If you do use them both, then the other options may be more frustrating for you, so would suggest a 2nd hand K10 or K20 if you can stretch the budget a bit.

I totally agree with Danny, the two cameras should be the same model and have all the custom settings set the same.
If you have two the same you can pick up either body and use it without having to cope with the differences between them.
A good quality P&S camera is the better solution (IMO) for travelling light.

Would anyone recommend a K200 or Km as a second body to the K10d.
Maybe something even smaller and lighter for travelling, when using with my limited lenses, but without compromising on image quality.
Both still seem to have a high price tag though and hard to find S/H??
Kindess regards
