I keep telling you it will punch a hole thru time!

For anyone wanting a macro/landscape/portrait/ anything not moving in an erratic manner camera it has to be the best out there at the moment.
I will still be persevering with Pentax for my karting shots, because when I do get a goodun, it sure is a goodun I have to say though that after looking at matwhittington's leaf pictures the level of detail in that sensor is breathtaking.

I couldn't find that either , other than in video. In fact it kept on about autofocus being fast!
In the summary at the top:-
CONS
"Limited autofocus during video recording. A little slow to start. Lacks built-in GPS or Wi-Fi.
BOTTOM LINE
The Pentax K-3 is the most refined K-mount SLR to date, offering fast autofocus and superb image quality. Its video autofocus implementation isn't the best, but it still manages to snag our Editors' Choice award."
Did you see the quoted price for the Nikon D7100 - it is a big mis-print and should be £830 body only! Again, sort of thing that doesn't help K3 making it look twice as expensive as competition!

I have high hopes for the 120ish-360ish zoom, hopefully a Dc motor with a bit of zip.
Wonder if they will just HD the DA*s or re design them all, a quicker motor would be good and maybe an in body focus limiter like the Sony A99?

If you've got the latest AP mag (saw it yesterday), have a look at the K-3 review in there, and then compare it to the What Digital Camera review (apparently by a different author) linked to by Jules, it makes very interesting reading.

Where these reviews are saying that it has fast AF, is that using the internal body screw drive focus? I seem to recall that's a lot faster now on the K3?
And are the lens internal sdm type motors the same speed on the k3? That kind of makes sense I guess.
Could someone clear that up please? Thanks

Screwdrive is faster but SDM is the same but bites better IMO (It locks and holds focus with more confidence).

Right, so screw drive lenses should benefit from the k3s faster internal screw system, but lenses with their own internal motors are going to be limited to about the same focusing speed as before?

Well, there are big chunks of the reviews that are the same, word for word. It could be that they've just lifted bits from Pentax supplied literature, but as one of the phrases that are the same is: "This presumably is the same Sony sensor that is used in the Sony NEX-7 and Alpha 77, except the lower resolution accounts for Pentax's in-camera image stabilisation system.", I doubt it. Very odd...Daniel Bridge wrote:

Are AP and WDC from the same stable?

AP and WDC are indeed from the same publisher. Publishers publish many titles. In this current issue (sent free for subscribers with AP) it even repeats Damien Demolder's day on the Thames with Pentax.
Best regards, John

You'd think magazines publishers are having a tough enough time of it, without producing two with rehashed articles between them.

Same publisher or not, it appears to be a mixture of misrepresentation and/or plagiarism. If so, it's shoddy journalism.

I have to say though that after looking at matwhittington's leaf pictures the level of detail in that sensor is breathtaking.
