This is the Jessops web-site this morning.
There seems to be an inconsistency of supply at branches reported from time to time.
Why do you make that claim, Stan?

People have been making similar posts for years, certainly as long as internet forums have existed.
My opinion is that it doesn't really matter what rumours there are, I know what I want to use and why and I just get on with it......

The Metro Centre in Gateshead has taken down all Pentax related displays and it has been reported (Rumoured) other shops have done the same. As I have all The Pentax equipment I need (notice not want) I'll be using Pentax until total failure of what I currently have. I only returned to Pentax because I had 3 lenses (two of them Sigma equivalent to the kit lenses of today, from when I had the SFXn. I had looked at Nikon a D90 but got an *is DL2 at what I thought was an attractive price on holiday in Chester that came with an 18-55 non WR lens, the rest is history

The latter was performed by them accompanied (not musically) by a Raymond Revue Bar stripper in The Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour".

Look at the statistics...
Jessops is in its 2nd incarnation. It died and had to be resurrected.
Pentax might only be a small part of a larger organisation now; it simply refuses to die. Don't forget the DSLR camera market is shrinking and Nikon have struggled lately. But I do believe a lot of the availability issues are down to Pentax/Hoya/Ricoh marketing efforts (or lack of)...

I think Ricoh have far greater worries than Pentax at present.. Judging by there last copier/printer sales figures...
I certainly wouldnt worry about a high St presence for Pentax. As my last three Pentax cameras have all been purchased online. After watching online expert reviews.. Not some kid in a black Jessops tee shirt...

Since buying my K-5, I either purchase from SRS or buy online. For me, no more need for Jessops, they were good in the days of film but that's all gone now - a bit like travel agents and so many other high street retailers.

Jessops have been crap for years. SRS or Park for me, or online if I'm not able to get to either, or they don't have it.

It is not just Jessops most camera retailers do not stock Pentax. This might be a problem for existing Pentax users but for new to Pentax this could be a reason not to buy. When i bought my K5 I got to see, touch and play with the camera to see if it suited me,which it did. Now with the nearest stockist to me nearly 200 miles away I would buy another brand.

Given Jessops bought out most local independent town camera shops before going broke themselves, it isn't surprising there aren't many Pentax stockists left and a gaping hole of dealers There aren't that many independent photographic stores left, and of the ones which are around they seem to be mostly second hand dealers. I visited the Jessops store in Preston last year and their Pentax stock was barely worth looking at (and no doubt even less now). However directly opposite was an independent camera shop (Wilkinsons) displaying a K-1 in the front window. There has to be a reason Jessops have dropped Pentax, brown envelopes from Canikon perhaps? Who knows. Other dealers seem to manage to stock and promote them.

IIRC the original Jessops dropped Pentax because Pentax wanted them to order a stock value of X+ to be paid for when ordered, not paid for when sold from stock. It worked out well for them, not so good for Canon and Nikon though.
Cheers

Not yet but hopefully soon ... Then I have to go grip hunting
I bought my first Pentax in 2008 (K10D) and was told on every other forum I was out of my mind as they would be out of business within 12 months.
In 6 months time I will have had 10 years of photography from the brand .... Hopefully there is another 10 to come.
Anyone want to buy a K3 grip 😢
