infrared trigger

After going to my first camera club studio session. I need to purchase an infrared trigger, to trigger the studio lights. Has anyone got any suggestions or recommendations? I did try a prolinca and an interfit. (not sure of the model numbers). but these would not operate on my K-7, for some reason.. Ended up having to borrow a Canon 40D for the session..

The Interfit will work on your K-7, but the fittings on these can be quite tricky. Some fit well, others not so well.

I use manual at the synch speed because it's simple enough to set 1/160sec and f8 or so and the light can be seen clearly when we revieww the image. Exposure with studio flash is not much of a problem.

Also bear in mind that Interfit IR triggers go into sandby very quickly, so switch off and on again immediately before use.
