Hi guys,

I just purchased a Metz 50 to go with my k-x and was wondering about how i would go about getting it off the camera but still being able to use HSS? Oh, and the cheapest way possible

Thanks people!

There is only one way to get your Metz Flash off camera and still be able to sync it in HSS. You will need a TTL cord, various choices and lengths. I personally like the Nissin SC-01, it is a Universal Flash Shoe Cord developed for off camera flash photography. It has multiple contact pins for TTL Compatible Flash use withCanon, Nikon, Fujifilm, Pentax and Samsung digital cameras. No conversion switch is required for the respective camera manufacturer.

Off camera TTL flash photography is possible up to a maximum of 150cm. The TTL shoe which fits to the main camera body features a secondary hot shoe enabling the user to attach 2 flash units, one on the top of the camera and another off to the side, there is a selector switch on the shoe to choose between camera top or extension flash usage.

Specification

Length: 30cm (12”) to 150cm (5’) approx.
Weight: 105g (3.7oz.) approx.
Compatible with

Canon E-TTL, E-TTL 11 Flash System
Nikon i-TTL Flash System
Pentax P-TTL Flash System
Fujifilm Finepix SLR Cameras
Samsung SLR Cameras

i hope this answers your question.
