Cobra D650 flash on K5

Posted 18/03/2012 - 19:04 Link
Whilst going through my pentax Super A bag (an aladins cave) I found my Cobra D650 dedicated lcd system, having checked out everywhere I can, including Cobra and checked out voltages on the unit I still feel wary of attaching it to my K5, after hearing that if the voltages doe`nt match it can fry the camera circuit.
I found it to be exelent on the super A and happy with the funtions it has, being complete with diffusers and filters,
has anyone had or know of it being safe with the k5 as this is the one thing I have not been able to find out.
Confused.

Reported to be 5.6V at http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html but probably worth double checking yourself with an AVO (voltage) meter to be certain. Just turn it on and check the voltage across the contacts.

If it is 5.6V then it would be fine to use. I have a Cobra D400 which was acquired recently in a bundle of camera bits and that works fine.
