Pauly you put my efforts to shame. Didn't I say yesterday that photography was "just a hobby"? (Or words to that effect.)
Yeah, right.

Through engaging and photographing these guys i've learnt a great deal.

Best wishes, Kris.
It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
Well done

When I first started out with this project, I got talking to a guy and he offered to sign me in and show me his hostel room where he stays on a temporary basis. He was one of the lucky ones.
But I have to say I absolutely regret not taking him up on his offer 'cos I was a little apprehensive at the time and a great opportunity went begging. I realise the images I could've got would've given a great insight. I still kick myself over this.
I know where the hostel is, i'll have to chance a meeting with him again. That's if he is still there.

This is Tony, he currently resides around the area of Old Street tube station, in east London.
He told me it was through the loss of both his mother and daughter to Cancer that caused his downfall into homelessness.
While we were talking to each other he was threatened with arrest for begging, and told to ‘move on’ by a community police officer. He told me this happens all the time. This time though, he was not arrested.
As with many homeless people this guy needs help with drink and drug abuse, he is an alcoholic and addicted to heroin. – It comes with the territory when your long-term homeless.
By the way, he is on the front cover of this weeks Big Issue magazine. Also, as usual a 6×6 photograph of him is on its way to Boris Johnson (Mayor of London) at City Hall, courtesy of moi!
