My name is John and I'm a Pentax virgin so please be gentle start this hobby probably like a lot of oldies with a Praktica LT in the 70s, over the years I've used several makes but mainly Minolta, since digital I've been with Nikon (D70, D300, D3) but fell out with them over a problem they wouldn't help with, I then adopted Sony with their wonderful A900 followed by an A77, no problems with Sony at all but I just fancied a change, been tempted several times to give Pentax a try but they never "felt" right in my hands until I picked up a K3 and it was love at first sight, it felt great and is a thing of beauty lol, so I ended up getting one in gunmetal finish, I prefer to use older lenses and there are so many out there to try I also own a couple of smaller cameras, Samsung NX300 and a Contax TVS Digital. Over the last few years my health has suffered and I'm now disabled so at this time of year I tend to semi hibernate I do try and get out now and again when the weather suits but I really really can't wait for springtime lol. Anyway I'm off now to research bits here on the forum.
Regards
John

Hi John

Welcome to the forum - being stuck in the house is no excuse to not play with your new toy - still life, macro, abstract - plenty to go at until the rain stops

Carl
No matter how many lenses I have owned - I have always needed just one more

Lol no we have 8 of them 5 reds and 3 greys.
Thank you all for the welcome, I can see already how friendly it is and I'm looking forward to learning a lot about Pentax heritage, can anyone suggest any "decent" books covering say roughly from the 60s through to the 80s
Thanks
John
