Thankyou kind Ko1obos, I was getting the hang of the K20's exposure foibles whilst shooting the Shetland gallery. It is a fabulous place for photographers or, indeed, any tourists. Very friendly natives, no traffic problems (a traffic jam is a rabbit and one car waiting at a junction!, a very well organised ferry system running between the islands and all that amazing scenery.
The Fireworks gallery on my site was also shot with the K20d, a first attempt at fireworks which came out better than I expected - due to the camera of course!
Cheers
Chris

Welcome to the forum Chris
You have some great shots from your recent trip to the Shetland Isles. I particularly like the landscapes, which lens (or lenses) were you using for the landscape shots?
Interesting to hear how you arrived with a K20D and also that you favour Pentax and Olympus which happen to my two favourite manufacturers

Thanks for your kind comments Greytop and mr mellow. The landscapes were mainly shot with a Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6.
It seems to me that Pentax and Olympus think more carefully about how and in what circumstances cameras are used and develop useful features that Canikon later copy. If the K7 had a tilt/swivel screen a-la Olympus it would be very close to being the perfect APS-C camera.
Cheers

If anyone is interested, I spent a week in the Shetland Isles just after I bought the K20d. The results can be seen here www.chris-carter.co.uk/shetland. It was a new camera - the defence rests!
Shoot sharp
