Hi to all.
I just bought a K-X, and it is my first experience with the DSLR. I`m from Spain, but at this moment I am in Ushuaia, at the south of Argentina, in transit to a Spanish Antartic Base (Juan Carlos I)in wich I am the mechanic. I`ve been there the last year too, and I regretted very much of not having a good camera, so this year I will make things right.
I will learn from you as much as possible in these days, so thanks for recieve me!!!

In those temperatures, he'll probably need jump leads.

Thanks!! That great reception!!
Don´t worry, when I return, i´ll show you some photos, that land is really spectacular.
I have enough batteries to take photos along 2 months, and this camera, with the AA lithium batteries, seems to hold fairly. Since I have arrived to Ushuaia the Friday, I´ve been taking photos to everything that moves, and the camera shows the battery indicator full!
Mannesty, I´m from Ribeira, in the coast of Galicia.

That's not an area of Spain I have ever been to but I understand it's very beautiful in places.
I live much further south in Totana, Region de Murcia, where it's a lot warmer this time of year than where you come from and certainly where you are going. Enjoy your trip and I also look forward to seeing some of your photographs from Antarctica.

Jack,

Maybe you should. We had a high of 20 degrees C today but night-time temperatures are much lower at around 7 degrees. We haven't resorted to putting the heating on yet either. The pool hasn't seen any use for the last couple of months though, except for the two four week old kittens that I fished out of it. Both doing well, and growing.
