Hello from ceredigion

Hi, My name is Dexter and i am new to the world of DSLR photography. I'm 3 days into the ownership of a K-R with the standard 18-55mm kit lens and will be the owner of a sigma 70-300mm within the next week. my interests are landscape and motorsport photography and as soon as i have examples of my pictures i will be sharing for advice. if there is anyone within mid wales with similar interests i would be keen to accompany on shoots to pick up some pointers as im a complete novice. oh and i can bring choccy bikkies too!

Hello! I'd love to see some of your motorsport stuff - I guess you've seen the "Your photos" section.
I have a interest in motorsport, I've only been to Pembray in Wales. I visit Swansea from time to time so I've seen a couple of races up at Pembray, but that was before I got my K-r so no decent photos.
Can't really offer you any advice though, I'm also a novice!

Hi Dexter. I am also in Ceredigion (Lampeter), and share an interest in landscapes. Not really considered motorsports before, but am always willing to go point cameras at things to see what happens

I'm not by any means an expert, but if you want to go out with cameras at some point I would be interested.

I have been known to spend part of my summer around Ceredigion (and other places of course - nice area

I am based in North Wales (Cefn Mawr) so I can't offer a convenient meet, however, if you find yourself heading towards the Anglesey circuit at some point I may be bale to join in - also if it is motorcycle racing you would be photographing I have a contact or two who may be able to help with tickets

Thanks for the welcomes guys, i will post some pics when i feel i have one's worth showing as im still finding my way around the camera. i am located near lampeter if anyone is interested in meeting up for a brew and chat or to go out on a hunt for photo oppurtunities. fingers crossed i'll have my new 70-300mm in the next few weeks then save hard for a decent wide angle lens as im finding the kit lens a bit restrictive.

Hello and welcome, from someone who was born west of Offa's Dyke, but now stuck in flattish East Anglia! I am glad that you are enjoying your K-r. I got a K-x from the missus last Christmas and I am still very happy with it. Still finding out new features!

Let us know how you get on with the Sigma 70-300. I have a hankering for something in that range, that she might be able to afford to buy me for the coming Christmas

Welcome Dexter, there are a few of us here with an interest in motorsport, looking forward to seeing some images. There are several meets arranged by members but I'm not aware of a motorsport related one yet, so maybe there's an idea for one
