Hello Beth and welcome to the forum
from someone who's just as new to the forum as you are.
About your spiderweb - you should start looking for your spiderweb at the time of sunrise when they are still dew-covered. Shoot them from a low angle against the backlight of the sunrise, preferably against a dark background. If you do close-ups, play with a lot of different planes of focus and exposure settings and shoot away. Just thought this might give you an inspiration and/or starting point for your own ideas
