Guillotines

Hopefully I have spelt it right! For those who actually print out their images what do you use to trim the paper to size?

I have used a rotary guillotine but I don't like the potential for damaging the surface while the lever action ones seem old hat.

I used to have access to a power cutter which was great if scary but no longer.

Any advice?

but then this I use more for school work, so its not as important, although it usually cuts very nicely.

But isn't there the risk that the plastic bar will scratch the surface of the print?

I use something similar, and have never had a problem with scratches.

I have a similar cutter and raise the bar slughtly when inserting the print. I've never had any scratches, it just needs normal care.
Best regards, John

The only problem could arise if the blade became blunt, and rather than cutting it.. squashed; eek!

Excellent - unless eBay can produce a bargain solid lever style I'll go with a decent quality rotary guillotine.

Thanks guys.

I use one of these at work:

But I still use a cutting matt and craft knife for precision cutting.

Key phrase 'at work' - I'm not spending that kind on money! As for knives I find that blood puts people off pictures

What about these:

Don't worry about the blood - you've got around 8 pints ............ and plasters are cheap!

That's more like my money.

I'll see what my local sationery supplies can do. I expect he'll do the spray mount and card as well although he may not be competitive.

I own a printing shop, so I don't think you are going to use what I'm using. It is a Schneider Senator 115cm, but it wouldn't even fit through your door.
