Grovelling request

Hi all,

I have a favour to ask any camera repairers out there, or anybody else for that matter who might have what I'm looking for.

Does any of you have a K body mount going spare, gathering dust, generally forgotten, that you would be willing to part with.

For a long time I have wanted to make a ringflash holder for a reversed lens for macro work and all I need is the mounting plate from any old K mount camera, any make will do. I don't even need the lens locking pin as I haven't figured out how to employ it on my proposed adapter. I'll probably fabricate something, Heath Robinson style, or rely on duct tape.

I know I can pick up 'spares or repairs' bodies from eBay reasonably cheaply but I can't bring myself to wreck a Pentax camera, no matter what state it might be in, and I'm not sure which other bodies use the same mount.

If anyone is willing to part with one, and I'm happy to pay for it, I'd be eternally grateful for your help. Or, perhaps someone can advise me as to which other (cheaper) bodies I might pick up having the same mount that I can dismember.

Pete, no need to breakup an Pentax body, get a 2x converter for next to nought on ebay.

Or an extension tube
Even a rear lens cap will at least fit... but not tightly.

That's what the forums are for, there are a whole lot of us to do the thinking. So if one of us misses something, the rest might pick up on it!

. . . I feel doubley embarrased now becasue I have just found a set of tubes AND a 2 X converter gathering dust, old ones which I have replaced with better ones. I'm still finding it difficult to break something that's perfectly usable 'though, even if I'm not using it. Daft, I know, I expect I'll get over it.

Now where's my set of watchmakers drivers to get these tiny screws out (that I can barely see) . . .
