I did a search and found that the Canon RS-60E3 is surposed to work with the DS. I bought one on EBay for $11.00 including shipping. I will let you all know if it works.

Hi,
well it arrived this morning. For a quid it's exceptional quality, right down to the gold plated jack!
There's a good solid indication between the half depress and full depress, so it'd be pretty difficult to take a picture accidentally when you only want it to autofocus. The bulb facility is nice and smooth as well.
No complaints at all, and there's lots of them available by the look of it. Best quid I've spent this week, and my first equipment review..
Cheers

Liam, How long is the cable? The "original" Pentax cable release has only 45cms of cable. I had to invest in a 2.5mm to 2.5mm audio lead to get a decent length.

when I search on the make and model I get to 0,8 meters.
There is a German seller on ebay who sells them for 12 euro's excluding 10 euro's p&p.
I got mine from the above mentioned link for 12 euro's including p&p...

Hi,
I just measured it at 900mm, which is fine for my needs at the moment, just to eliminate camera shake on macro photography, but if I needed an extension lead to that I'm sure I could pick one up for next to nothing from one of my local shops.
Cheers

Hi,
That's handy,
the seller of that remote is "no longer a registered member of Ebay".
I have no idea why, as he received feedback even today??
I've ordered a waterproof cover off them, which I'm waiting to find out if I'll still get. I'm hoping that it's just some technical error.
Oh well, I may have to get my money back off of Paypal at some point. Anyone had experience of this? Is it a simple case of emailing them?
I'll give it a week and see what happens.
Cheers

I've just received the cover. If they ever come back to ebay I recommend it to you all. The photo's don't do it justice at all. I'll do some better ones of it, and show you later.

I know the English is a little broken, but having received that, I would think that your remote is very likely to turn up as normal.hi,

I got my remote in on monday. Works like a charm. The cable lenght is long enough for most applications.
The remote even has another socket so you could in theory attach two camera's to one remote (stereo/3D photography anyone?).

Hi Golf,
it is a nicely built bit of kit isn't it. I used mine for the last lot of macro shots I did, and it just made it so much easier, especially as I was wandering around the set up with a handheld flash at various angles.
Cheers
