Alright, alright I'll keep the highlights

Matt, it might sound strange but I blown them when I make the image B&W.
I needed to push the yellow to get the effect I want.

Here is the "original colour", it's quite different.

Yes, they do work don't they. Possibly because the image is black & white and blue only.
I can tell you there are more colours in it, it's the inverse one of the orange coloured you see above.

Thanks for the info Stefan, I can take it from there.

The gold looks good too!

Hey Stefan, This would make a great print to hang on the wall, with non-clashing decor, of course!

Good luck Kris, please show me the photo when you're done

Gareth, corker, I needed to look up that word, thank you for it.
It indeed looks special, don't know if this can be done with any photo though all of these textures were in the original photo.

Hmm I might be able to sell it

There is a printer company that I wanted to try out, I could try it out with these two.

I have to agree with everyone else - it's a beautiful image, either in blue or gold (or any other colour I guess)

Great work!

Great image in either colour, Stefan. Though I think I prefer the gold.

Re. the highlights - I hesitate to give people who are clearly much more skilled in pp-ing than me advice, but were you using ACR for the RAW conversion and if so did you push the Recovery to its limit? I have recently started using ACR and I find this is a very useful feature that wasn't available on the version of Silkypix I have. I was ginger in its use at first, but apparently I've found you can push it more or less to the maximum without having a detrimental effect on the rest of the picture. Having said that, you probably already know this.In fact, you've probably already done it here!

Very nice Stefan. The best of the few shots I've seen you post here

The blue one is cool but I prefer the second (gold & red) one. They are both a million times better than the original

Thank you all for the kind words, they will push me on to do better next time

Gareth, Irish you say, I've never been there but they look like a "gezellige" (cosy) people.

Super idea, didn't thought about that one, it would mean however to restart it all over again

many people do like the highlights and I haven't had any comments that where against them so I might just live with it, sometimes you must just stop working on it.
And today is my birthday so a good excuse to do nothing

Stefan, this has been a great exercise and has yielded a great picture. I can imagine this printed large on a white wall. Nice one.
