Hi Shaun,
For me it's either 1 or 3. I love No. 1 because it's the sort of stuff I do with my ultrawide angle, but I love No. 3 just as much - beautiful light, crisp reflections, subtle colours.
However, as Smudge says above, in the recent past we've seen quite a few images similar to No. 1 due to ultrawide angles becoming popular, so at the end of the day you might want to avoid appearing "trendy" and a more classic shot like No. 3 might just clinch it with the judges.

They are all beautiful shots Shaun, for me No.3 stands head and shoulders above the rest and is the most likely competition winner. It has everything and as stated above it 'hits you right between the eyes'.

Number 1 for sheer impact, although I like no. 2, but would remove the vignetting.
The others are also good but we've seen this type of shot many times.

Very good it did put a smile on my face My thinking is that, if you divide #3 into 3 horizontal elements, then subtract the top and bottom 3rd, then concentrate purely on the middle 3rd, it says "hello!.. I'm a b/w photo!".. Now factor in the top and bottom elements again, and they seem to be telling the middle 3rd, "no you're not!".. Well thanks very much to all of you for the help; it does make a difference to me to get other peoples views on them I think I know which one to put in the competition from what all you have said and picked it looks like No.3 is the one.

Just giving you all an update on the photo competition? Well great news I came 2nd out of 1,288 people who entered the competition, and I won a book to put all my landscape photos in sorry every one but a Nikon won 1st place,With a snowy photo in farness it was a good shot .

That's fantastic!! It is a beautiful image!
(although I'd've gone with 1...) It must be really difficult to choose images for competitions when all your shots are at so high a quality!!

#3 - lovely, though I'd much prefer it in landscape orientation.

Other than that, the images are nice shots, but the mystery of the second one does lift it above the others. In competition there are likely to be some very dramatic images and you may need to find something that has immediate impact.
