First Sigma 50-500mm images

Lens arrived today, well packaged and excellent condition. Took a trip up the road to the flying club to shoot some images with it. Only one plane took off and I had to shoot through wire fencing.

All with the Sigma 50-500mm and the K1

Looks like it does the business. Add that to someone who knows how to use it and this is what you get.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

How do you find the focus speed and accuracy of the 50-500 (and from where did you finally get that lens as I have seen few, if any, advertised recently)?
K-3 II, K-3 and K-30 (now running the Hacked K-50 f/w, so it thinks it is one of those ), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

Must be an exclusive flying club if the owners fly planes like that one.

Great atmosphere and mood! It must have been liberating to have that sort of reach available. I like the ones with the wind farm in the far distance the best.
