Hi Peter, I used 500mm quite a lot, the Tiger shot was 500mm but a few of my pics were fuzzy so I learned that you have to use the fastest shutter speed you can and up the ISO to achieve this or use a monopod or tripod.
Jack.
By the way my new avatar was taken by my passenger when we passed Murcia on the way to Javea.

Hmmm - it's 17c here in Birmingham - but at least there is a mainly blue sky.
On a dark desert highway, cool Pentax K5 in my hand.

John how are you liking your K7? had a shot of one on my short visit to Scotland last week found it a bit nice but it will have to wait for the moment spent to much this year, well thats what the wife tells me.

Hi Peter. I've only had it a couple of days and I'm only on page 42 of 328 pages in the manual!!
Seriously I've played with it a bit and got used to handling it and it feels great - like part of me if that makes sense. Tomorrow I'm going to an RSPB site near me and will use it to take photos of birds, landscapes, insects and flowers. If I manage any 'good' photos I'll put a few in the gallery. What I really need is your Bigma for the birds...Mmmmm...that sounds a bit rude!!!

Just reading this at 1:00 AM and it's a chilly 31 degrees here. High of around 44 today. Problem is, it's nearly 29 degrees inside, and no air con.
