I like it but i also don't like it. I think you need to rethink your lighting, the strawberry must look yummy but it doesn't look so yummy right now
I think you need some light from below or the left side to reduce the darker spot.

I like the idea and composition, but it might need a diffuser to soften the flash reflections a bit. And perhaps a bit more DOF so the frontmost bit of strawberry is in focus. I can sort of see what Stefan means too, the bottom left shadowed part of the strawberry doesn't look too appetising.

I'll see what I can do in PP with regards to the darker section - but a diffuser is a really good point, thanks Tim.
By next month (hopefully) I plan on obtaining another 360FGZ, 2 lightstands, flash brackets and umbrellas. I think that will help tremendously.
I have to say I'm very impressed with the wireless mode on the K20D - being able to alter the output of the flash from the camera. It's brilliant stuff.
Oh, and I'll probably get a mini fridge too!

Right, I've been mucking about in Photoshop (when I should be working as I'm now in the office, naughty me!)
But....I do think this is an improvement. I've just used the original shot as it was framed for now, and not cropped it further:
I've used the shadow/highlight feature specifically in the darker section and also used the lens vignetting correction function to whiten the edges a little more.

Bob those last shots look a lot better and indeed an umbrella would soften the highlights.
Get a convertible shoot through umbrella, those are quite handy.

The lighting looks very harsh to me - having said that food photography is known to be a difficult topic.
I would have resorted to natural lighting but I guess that was not your intention :

I was experimenting in my new 'loft studio'. I say studio; it still has some way to go - but it's certainly got potential.
I used my 360FGZ in wireless mode from directly above the subject, and my K20D's own internal flash.
This was shot wide open at f2.8.
Any comments/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
