Thanks Gwyn!
And I was resigned to no more updates for the K20D
I'll check it out later and see what else has been done (if anything). Good news about the SR accuracy though!

User on other forum says the 1.02 version was there for a short time, quickly replaced by 1.03 .

Another thanks from me Gwyn!
I'll update it when I get home, but from the sounds of it v1.03 seems to be the most useful K20D firmware update yet.
The most useless update would have to go to v1.02!

Very interesting! Thanks for posting the news.
There's no mention on the Pentax site of any other changes apart from the SR.

No it just says it improves the accuracy of the SR function. I've just updated mine, painless as ever to do. Now to find something to test the new improves SR on

Most important is that the camera still works with new firmware

On pentaxforum.com someone posted that the AF is quicker in some cases. I can't tell for sure but I get the impression that it is a little quicker in darker environments but this can allso be my imagination.
The SR now allso works when focus is not confirmed, it starts working immediatly when you half-press the shutter release button. I haven't noticed this before. But as for the AF performance, it can be my imagination
I'll wait for the tests that Matt is going to conduct.

I wonder where they got that information from. It would be interesting to know if it's from an official source, or just an assumption. The temperature of the camera affects whether NR is applied in Auto. It may be that the poster's camera was nice and cool when they tested!

I updated to 1.03 and went out into the garden and took this, it was windy and in the shade and I do think the update has made a difference and it might be my imagination but I think the auto focus was faster.
