If you can afford the extra £35 or so over those special-offer AF360s, then I'd suggest the Metz 48 (£135 from SRS). Compared to the AF360 (which is pretty good itself) you get:
*One third more power (GN48, vs GN36 for the Pentax)
*Swivel head - this means that you can still bounce the light off the ceiling in portrait mode, which the AF360 can't
I bought the Metz 48 and I am very happy with it, reasonably priced, very easy to use and it does everything I need it to do as an amateur. I cannot compare it with other models as I have not tried them, but the Swivel head is important for me and that is why I ruled out the Pentax AF360.
