In receipt of a F 35-70mm and quick test in the car. (ignore the subject matter :roll Anyway this set round to macro at 70mm and 1/80s f4.5 and hand held and nothing tweaked and I'm reasonably happy. I think it will be fine for film. I'll test a bit more when I have time.

I think you must mean the F 35-70MM? The 35-80mm has no Macro mode and is nothing like as nice a lens!

I intend to take my 35-70mm out on Monday as I'll be out for the day. It's a very handy little walkabout lens on digital if you don't fancy either dealing with manual lenses or paying four times as much for a used 28mm or 35mm manual prime.

Went past my favourite bridge today.

35mm f5.6 1/250s ISO100 K-7 hand held
Not sharpened or any processing.
From the jpeg in camera.
So a fair chance for improvement.

Honest opinion?
In macro mode, lots of CA especially with the black and white, but sharp.

the bridge? very soft at 100% i'm afraid. I wonder what a similar image would look like at the supposed sweet spot of F8-F11?

Bokeh is great though, very smooth.

All in all, a good purchase you have made.
