Glad it's sorted (itself) out
Matt

PS some Czechs would say it was Krackenosh (sp?) that did it... or if you mean the mountains in the north then maybe the high sulphur content of the air? (Have the trees on the tops finally recovered from the previous years of acid rain?)

polchraine: little bit of 'fiddling' does wonders not only with cameras...)

MattTatic: am not that North, just around Liberec. It has been unbelievably hot, so perhaps polchraine is right... but had a good laugh about 'fiddling' with bits and pieces....

Great news!

Now you know a lot more about your camera than when you set out on your trip

There's always room for an up side in every problem.

johnx: yes, indeed....but by the same token, could have very well done without it...))...What would have I done without you guys? Most probably, get drunk, curl up in a corner and feel sorry for my camera, if not my self....

Well, lots of water has passed under the bridge since I first posted my problem.
I have now realised that the whole problem was due to very small, stupid event. when inserting a new lens, I pressed the black safey button....
How silly, but one learns.... all the flap for nothing... anyway, the response was very good and much appreciated..

Looks like I'll be first to ask: The "black safety button"?
