Elements Image Import Glitch

It sounds as if the programme is possibly looking in one spot for images, and you're putting them somewhere else.
Perhaps check where PSE is looking for your pictures, and either change that directory name, or put your pics in exactly that location?

Is your display settings (top right on main menu) set to Folder Location? Try Thumbnail View, that will display all images in chronological order.
Also, under File/Watch Folders you can specify folders to watch, so that you will be notified if new images are added to these folders, also outside the Elements Loader.

I have tried the sugggestions, a total reinstall of PSE after removing all traces of it from hard drive. But to no avail. So decided time wasted was not worth it. Only concern now is that if and when I upgrade to a later version of PSE the glitch will be carried over. Still better to get out with camera and enjoy photography than worry any more.

Have you tried file>get photos and videos>from files and folders then select where your pictures actually are. You will have specified this in the importer first time you used it, its top right hand corner.
Elements will default to its own folder until you change this.

If its any help I have a PDF saved of Elements 1st page but dont know how or if I can import it into Photobucket or Pentaxuser.
