I'm sorry for p'ing on your bonfire, but I cannot understand the logic behind ANYthing disposable, we do not have infinite resources on the planet and EVERYthing should be built to last. We cannot afford to waste things in the way we currently do. A fine example of this is the historical lenses we all use that are still in perfect working order after sometimes more than 30 years.
Sorry if I sound a bit high and mighty but that is the way I feel, I hate waste!
Couldn't agree more. I figure we could save thousands of trees per week if we stop using toilet paper, and switch to kittens. They are soft and absorbent. You could just use a kitten once, toss it out the window, and it will clean itself and come back ready to re-use.
seriously though, there are a tonne of things we need to not buy... disposable digital cameras are on that list.
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Muslims use soap and water Don - no need to despoil a kitten only to have it come back and lick your face

I'm sure we've all had that bathroom moment of horror realising there's no toilet paper and the only choices available (assuming there are no passing kittens) are to use our socks or 'go Al-Quaeda'.

As far as disposable digital cameras go, you can get an equally crappy but reusable one for about 20 quid so I don't think many people will be getting one of those...

The Elite have scammed most of the world into having a monetary system that applies interest to the creation of money. This means money has inbuilt scarcity and we need an infinitely expanding economy ( with the rape of the earth's resources that goes with it ) to just stand still.

Agree with the recycling views.

The cheap digicam can be hacked IIRC. I've seen sites showing how to do it, and for a camera with 1.3 meg resolution it's worth playing with.

There was one site that showed how to use one for a web cam!!

Sorry, can't remember any addresses. I was looking a good while ago now and have lost all details.
Cheers, HG

Why buy a disposable camera (if it was free fair enough) and spend time fiddling with it when you can get 2nd hand 1.3M cameras for less. I've even seen them given away at exhibitions and these are totally reuseable (by design). A friend of mine has a "James Bond" spy camera style (bit like a USB drive)that he's used for years and I know he spent less than £10.
