Ebay Bargain

Well, I think I got me a decent bargain this week.

As I've mentioned, I don't have a photography budget, well, maybe 2.50 per annum So, I'm always on the lookout for old "vintage" stuff. As long as it works, I'm happy, even if it doesn't have all of the modern bells and whistles.

I've wanted a flash which can be angled, so I can get to grips with bouncing flash etc. I had a look on ebay last Friday ( I was bored in work ) and with 3 mins to go there was a Canon Speedlite 199A for 6.99 inc P&P and no bids.

I decided it was worth a gamble, especially as it came with another flash ( Cobra MD210) and a Canon lens ( which I'll probably sell). So, I bid 10 and won it...for 6.99

Both flashes work on my camera in manual and Auto mode. Obviously, they're not TTL, but I can deal with that.

So, two reasonably decent flashes for under a tenner!! Brilliant!!
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

Now if you get an optical slave or two you have multiple off camera flash units. Sounds like a bargain to me!

Have a look for the DIY softbox on the strobist web site. I made one for pennies and it does help although it's awkward to use. The cat was irritated to lose her cardboard box as well.
