just wondering if anyone has tested one of the following lenses on a FF and what it would mean (i.e just vigneting/crop or simply bad image quality?). I think they are all designed for digital..

- 10-17 fisheye
- 10-20 sigma
- 17-50 f2.8 sigma
- 50-150 f2.8 sigma
- 55-300 pentax
- 18-250 tamron

my god since when do i have so many lenses!? might need to downsize a bit at some point..

They will probably be obsolete by the time a Pentax FF comes
out.... they haven't even started the design process yet

The Sigma 10-20 works - through some of the zoom range it does vignette, but I think it's OK from 15mm upwards. The Tamron 17-50mm definitely does not work - the imaging circle is about the same through the zoom range. The other zoom I've tested is the 18-55 kit lens... seems OK from about 28mm up.

The DA55-300 is noted as compatible here: http://ricehigh.blogspot.com/2009/10/compatibility-of-da-lenses-on-full.html

Are you asking in the hope of a Pentax FF, trying an old Pentax film, or are you purchasing another brand? In which case compatibility/convenience is an issue

It is important to remember that just because there is no obvious vignetting, does not mean that the lens is suitable for full frame. There may well be significant loss of IQ beyond the designed for image circle.

The only lens I have, that I have on your list is the DA 55 - 300 and it does not show significant vignetting throughout the range on a ME Super.

FYI the DA 16-45 gives good results from around 22mm

that means on a FF you can use 22mm which is better than 16mm (i.e 24mm 35mm equivalent) on the APS-C?

if so that's actually good news!!

link is (more than likely) OK; I don't get a 404 error There seem to be problems currently where one can not access threads.

Yep PF does appear to be offline. We were discussing Bradley Manning and Wikileaks earlier, so the CIA probably took them down!
