Hi John, I can see sales coming....like they say in spirituality....'the moment you are aware that you are unaware, you are aware'....You have admitted John, now you will overcome the indecision....regards, jeeess

Well John you have the FA31mm ltd for sale currently- I would say that is an excellent example of being decisve- surely a real tough one to sell (unless of course you have another)

Hi John.
Yes I can go with the buying decision thing, but with me its not just camera equipment/lens, the wife says I am just one of those hoarders.
I like to think of it more as a discerning collector.
Best Regards.

I think it's a male problem, not wanting to sound sexist. We are by nature collectors and hoarders. And of course everyone else's shot's look sharper with the lens that there using and you are not.

I have the same problem. I have a couple of lenses I should sell on, but I am reluctant to do so. I think it's a male problem, not wanting to sound sexist. We are by nature collectors and hoarders. And of course everyone else's shot's look sharper with the lens that there using and you are not.
Does that make me an honorary bloke?

Anyone feeling indecisive about a 100mm WR macro could always just lend it to me for a while, if it would make you feel better.

How true this all is! My slight variation is I have trouble parting with the accumulated cheap ones. e.g 200mm auto Takumar, Tamron Adaptall 17A 35-70mm. They are just so well made - I mean take the latter, £25 in mint condition in it's lovely little black leather case. I'd rather keep it and just sit there holding it and playing with the focusing ring. Now maybe that's a male thing as well.....

I am a hopeless hoarder, I very rarely sell anything. For example I currently have 4 standard zooms - the 18-55, 16-45, 16-50 and 17-70; in fact make that 5 if the old manual focus 35-105 counts as a standard zoom nowadays. The thing is I like all of them in different ways...
It's not just lenses, I have a pretty varied collection of tripods and monopods as well, a couple of them not yet used, but to me they are just fine pieces of engineering in their own right.

I'm never indecisive when it comes to buying or selling.
I either buy because I need it or I buy for the love for the old glass (that I don't really need).
And I don't sell what I need and I don't sell what I love

Call me devil's advocate, but I'd rather have all the lenses, experience all of them, than wonder how a lens performs personally.
All it means John, is that you have a vast knowledge of K-mount lenses which you can put to good use, and to which a lot of others have found to be really helpful and useful.
Now in regards to the financial side of things, alas, that I cannot give you advice on.

My problem is I'll buy a lens and think I might sell it on, but then I don't want to...so I end up with more lenses than I need. I'm being Very Good at the moment and rationalising. A bit at a time anyway.
So the problem is, I have no indecision when buying, but quite a lot when selling. I suppose admitting it is an important first step....
