Having just acquired a DAL35, FA50, and DA55-300 (and a load of memory cards), I've now developed a blood lust for more lenses... I somehow have convinced myself that I need a macro and am debating the DFA100 macro which is on sale, or going for a slightly cheaper Tamron 90mm 1:1.

Got me also wondering, are there any 90-120mm macro primes which are less than f2.8? (i.e. f/2 or f/1. Also, is the DFA worth 2x the price on the Tamron?
K-5; Siggy 10-20 f4, 30mm f1.4, 18-50mm f2.8, 70-200mm f2.8; Tammy 400mm f4, 500mm f8

1, Not for Pentax.

2, If you want weather sealing then maybe but otherwise probably not.

The Samsung version of the 100mm DFA Pentax lens - is that the one with rounded aperture blades?

Hi, post the results in your portfolio (it's results that count surely!) and we'll all decide if we have enough in our camera bags. I made up a macro with a cheap old film era zoom lens and a 7.99 extension tube set t use manually on my KR. I'd love it if Santa brought me a real 1:1 macro though!

No .. the Samsung and Pentax 100mm macro lenses are virtually the same.

The one with the rounded aperture blades is the (newer)Pentax D-FA 100mm WR.

Ah - hrm... Found a new Samsung for 299 - 3% through quidco at Jacobs and I'm wondering if te extra 100 for the dfa is worthwhile.

If I were buying new right now I would probably pay the extra for the WR version at Jessops. At their current price it's a bargain.

And it's interest free credit too I think. I looked at the DFA on Friday in Jessops and liked it but didn't like the plastic thread for filters. Took great pictures though.
fed up waiting for a FF
