Hehehe!!! Just some frigid dark Canadian humour!
Relax boys relax.
The photo above and this one was taken in Newfoundland this week, this place looks amazing, frozen. Take a look at this. Even the barren rocks look froze.

We are due for a snowstorm tomorrow...a big one too.
I will be returning home in a few days (by plane not ship)...hoping not to get snowed in.
Now off I go to photograph some Chinese plastic.

I'm in too .
No problems finding plastic here in Surrey although perhaps it would have been better to find something less frustrating to shoot. I keep forgetting how difficult is is to photograph reflective spherical objects .

Company at last Nice entry Glyn
I now have to go through the dispiriting process of having my entry slowly eclipsed by superior entries.

I think it takes a lot of courage to be the first submission. I love the glowing colour of the pipe in your shot and think you are definitely setting a challenge. ... I now have to go through the dispiriting process of having my entry slowly eclipsed by superior entries.
I like coming in early. Winning is nice but I'm here for the fun and the inspiration from seeing how everyone interprets these subjects. I think it would be very boring if nothing happened until the last few hours of the competition as well as giving the judge a hard time.
I believe getting in early also means that you don't have to worry so much about someone else having the same subject idea and getting in before you. The downside, as you say, is that later entrants know what they have to beat

I do not believe being last has advantage for receiving more wins....In fact, having judged many comps, I dare say I agree with Glyn...being early means you do get to be more orginal and have a head start on Wowing the judge. If someone copies your idea...it usually does not hold the same impact.
It is often the first few "WOW" photos that I often hold the 'others' up againts. There is just something about that first photo that comes in, when it is bang on topic, and what you were hoping to see when you choose your competition.
Having said all that....I better get going!!!

Having decided to photograph a mood lamp that can theoretically produce 16 million colours, I then had the problem of deciding which colour to set it on
I photographed it set on about 8 different colours and having selected a nice warm colour as my entry, decided that I possibly preferred one of the cool, pale green shots
Like Glyn, I found that photographing reflective spherical objects poses a few challenges

Er sorry Gartmore !!!!!
Living in the 'Second City of the Empire' where we used to make big things like railway locomotives and ships, I notice that the only things on Glasgow docks are piles of plastic garbage, which is shipped to China to make fleece jackets that probably end up back here via Canada.
By the second city I assume you are referring to Liverpool as the first ??
Of course I am referring to Liverpool as the first! There is scarcely a mention of it as the second here: link
