Maybe that's why they (reportedly) drink all that beer
Living in an area of the UK a wee bit North of you, (I lived in the New Forest area some years ago, 1988, whilst working near Southampton)some of the lads up here do drink a large swally or two. Not sure if it they out-slurp the Aussie lads and lasses.

I've had to weight my suitcase for my Ryanair flight tomorrow.

10kg allowance for cabin (7kg is stupid - Air Namibia had the same criteria - as long as it fits in the thingy and you can lift it it shouldn't be a problem), the case already weighs 5kg.... So that means taking the Z-1p 28 & 135, instead of the D3....

Bloody airlines
Z-1p, K-1, P50
F50 1.7. SMC-FAs 24, 35, 50 1.4, 85, 135. HD-FA15-30, DFA24-70, D-FA*70-200. The SMC-FA Limited Trinity.
Metz 45 CL-4, AF500FTZ. AF540FGZ.
Some Mamiya and some Nikon, and a Canon T70.

If you are flying premium economy Qantas allows 2 bags at 7kgs each, but basic economy is just 1 x 7kgs,

I found Qantas to be rather flexible, I have used them a number of times and as long as the bag is dimensionally correct they let it through, I have carried 11kgs into the cabin without any problems.

Qantas and Virgin are also quite good if you are flying domestically but avoid Jetstar and Tiger, they are Nazi's when it comes to luggage weight.

Where abouts are travelling in Aust?? If I can help you help you out with anything let me know. cheers

I'll be based in Perth. Don't know yet where else I'll be sent.

Best regards

Apart from one trip on Sleazyjet many years ago I have never had my hand baggage weighed. Last trip was the K20D, the LX, the MX, a battery of lenses and my laptop. Not sure what it weighed but my back ached! Pretty sure it was somewhat in excess of 7kg, and probably more than 12kg.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
