Well my 12 year-old granddaughter made the buttermilk pancakes with Maple Syrup, my wife did the scambled eggs, and I provided the Canadian Back Bacon - quite a family breakfast.

Well I spent my first 25 years in the UK and now 40 in Canada - as they say "when in Rome..." however due to diabetes I don't do Maple Syrup - how do you feel about HP on pancakes? - remember Brit + Canuck really weird

When I visit my Godpapa he makes me an American Breakfast - a pancake stack with pancakes , bacon , eggs and then baked beans on the side - plus of course maple syrup on the stack

Yummy pancakes and Maple Syrup. I don't like the way Americans do bacon, so I don't normally have the bacon though.
We visited Funks Grove Maple Sirup (syrup) Farm in Illinois when we drove rte 66 and watched them catching the sap and boiling it. They were really busy so we didn't get a tour, but were welcome to stand and watch a while. Since it was really cold we didn't stay too long.
It was good sirup though.

Not tried it with Marmite but peanut butter is great with Branston pickle.

Yes, it was a great day thanks.
I'm not allowed regular bacon anymore due to the cholesterol but they do allow back bacon or peameal as we call it which I have become quite used to. We actually never really bothered with pancakes until my granddaughter started making them and as she is with us a lot she likes to make them for us.
I lived in Burton-on-Trent for a while and I can still conjure up the smell of the marmite factory - quite pungent when the wind was in the wrong direction - good job we had the breweries to compete
