Somebody asked this some time ago and now I've forgotten again what digiscoping is....my nearest guess would be using a digital camera on a spotting scope or telescope.
Am I close?

I've used my *ist DL on the telescope. Not happy with the results so far, but that is down to me, not the kit.
I got my T ring adapter from a vintage camera shop on the internet for £10 inc P&P and the tube from ebay for £20. ( Although I need a new tube now as I dropped it in the dark and it damaged the thread ).

Expensive maybe, but a decent mid-range scope goes for no more than an entry level telephoto lense from what I have seen so far.
The problem seems to be in finding a scope that will allow fitting a DSLR body or lense. Unless you use a Nikon or Cannon camera and scope, things get difficult in the attaching dept.
Lots of looking through the auction sites, and Google hits.

you can use a T mount adaptor to fit just about any SLR to just about any telescope. Certainly any 'scope which can use a 2" eyepiece is easy, but even 1-1/4" adaptors are available.
you don't have to be mad to post here
but it does help

You could try Opticron scopes and adaptors. The problem I see with using scopes is that the aperture is fixed, and generally fairly small, so you might get an equivalent of a 1400mm lens, but it'll be at f/15 or something like that.

Does anyone use their K10/GX10 for digiscoping, and if so, what equipment do you use i.e. which scope, what type of adapter, and what results have you been able to obtain.
TIA,
Jim
