Night shot white balance advice

Just decide the effect you want. AWB will try and "correct" the colour cast, but do you want it to look like daylight?
If you still have colour in the sky then it may be best to use the "Daylight" setting. This will preserve the colour of the scene , but any tungsten lights in the scene will indeed be reddish.
If there is no natural light left, then the "Tungsten" setting would theoretically be the right choice, but it really is a matter of taste.

I usually go incandecent/indoor/tungsten, shoot raw and only change it in aperture if needed.
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

If you shoot RAW you can then try the various white balance pre-sets and see which one you like best. If one is close, you can then tweak the balance from there.

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.
