Managed just a few seconds of that new video......actually I have the Nikkor 70-200 VR2 that has the same 'problem' and images from neither lens (D-FA* or VR2) require sharpening. They are actually the best lenses I own.

Well, it would really be nice to have a Pentax youtuber (not him, preferably) that had some support from Pentax. It would be nice to have someone getting loaner lenses and doing some reviews and testing. Good for customers, good for brand exposure. Good for everyone. There was one of Kobie's YT videos where he explained that he did NOT get support from Pentax but that a very, very nice person donated him a load of kit to use and do various tests with. He's done some good videos on our kit.

^^^^^^^^^ Exactly correct. And thank you for the compliment.
For those who are not aware and/or are curious, here's how this all unfolded.
I do not, and have not, ever had any support from Pentax. My initial videos were all done with whatever Pentax equipment I had (and Pentax compatible equipment). During the holiday season in 2021, a subscriber reached out to me with only these words "What's your dream lens?" Well, of course I'd pick something crazy, so I mentioned the FA* 600 F/4. Next thing I knew, there was a response from the subscriber stating that they found one. I thought "Well lucky you Mr. Subscriber!" Then it was followed up with a message stating that I had it all wrong. He bought the lens for me. I was in shock and disbelief. I asked him to cancel the order and he said it was too late, it's a done deal. I explained that if I knew what his actual intent was, I would never have mentioned that lens as it doesn't really do the channel any service as it's way too expensive for the audience and I wouldn't get much use out of it either. I also mentioned that a better idea would have been both the DA* 16-50 PLM and D FA 150-450 as both of those lenses combined would have been cheaper than the FA* 600 F/4 and both of those lenses are more feasible for my audience and I'd get much more use out of them, so, everybody wins! He said the purchase and arrangements were already done and it can't be refunded. I thanked him and asked why he's doing this. He was mad at Pentax for not supporting my channel and he had the means to do so and he appreciated the education he got from my videos. After vetting him I provided my shipping address. A few days later, a big box arrived at my door. It was pretty heavy. I opened it up to find that it wasn't the FA* 600, but the DA*16-50, a Hoya CPL for the DA* and the D FA 150-450 along with some small accessories (SD card wallet etc). I immediately messaged the subscriber to ask what the heck?! And he assured me that there won't be any cost coming my way, he just really believes in the channel and wants to make sure it can continue and having these lenses would help.
I thanked him again and we chatted here and there over the next week. Then another monster box arrived a week or so before Christmas. It was a tripod, gimbal, Godox v1, X-Pro trigger, 1.4x teleconverter, extra batteries a ton of eneloops, a multi battery storage box, the Godox AK-R1 lighting kit etc etc. Just after Christmas is when the 600 F/4 arrived.
I did make a video about this and in the comments I was called a liar and I should be truthful that Ricoh Imaging is who sent me all this stuff, then it got mentioned on the "other" Former respected Pentax channel who's switched gears to other camera reviews.
Well, I am telling the truth and there's no reason for me to be making any of this up. I am forever grateful to the subscriber for doing such a large investment into my channel and believing in me to that magnitude. But no, Pentax has never supported me whatsoever and I don't expect that to change, at least any time soon.

A strange tale indeed but as the saying goes, never look a gift horse in the mouth Well, I am telling the truth and there's no reason for me to be making any of this up. I had the FA* 250-600mm for a time and found I never used it due to the weight and size (I never use a tripod) but the images were very impressive when I did and I imagine the 600mm prime will be much the same.
I have watched your channel a couple of times and you seem to enjoy what you are doing so good luck with it but as you say, I don't think Ricoh will come a calling anytime soon (I'm not sure they even know what they are doing at the moment)
