Hi guys - sorry I've not been much of an active member of late; I've been quite hectic!

Thought I would share a few shots I took yesterday on a day out to Liverpool with the family:

Shot with the Sigma 30mm at f1.4

My eldest daughter Molly at the Tate.

A lovely set Bob!
Hard to choose a favourite. I suppose number 3 does the least for me.
I do, I suppose, particularly like the water jets, but then again, the sillouette of your daughter is just exquisitte.[sp?]
Getting there! Thanks to you guys

No:1 and No:4 for me Bob
Strangely the orange barriers and the car on No: 4 add something to
the photo, rather than ruin it

Good shots Bob - especially the timing on the last one, and the reflection of the old building caught in the newer one. Well seen!

Cheers for the comments guys.

I was very happy with these shots I have to say - the Sigma 30mm has quickly become my favourite lens by far I LOVE IT. It's made me realise the type of photograpy I love the most is where I have little restriction in terms of lighting and can be very creative with depth of field. It's a gem with character.

I'm also still very much enjoying the 10-20. Both are definite keepers!

Regarding number 4 - I agree, the orange barriers and the car do add something. I did go in with a more conventional 'squarer' angle; but the appearance of the orange barriers at the bottom of the shot really spoilt it.

By zooming out I decided to make a real point of the foreground when a car past by.

What I did'nt expect was to catch the similar coloured orange bus lane which them came into view - and the reflection of that same bus lane in the car almost makes that orange colour a quintesential aspect of the foreground rather than a localised spot of orange which would just detract. I think it makes the best out of a bad situation.

(p.s. the first is my favourite).

A really clever and varied set, Bob. I like all of them in different ways.
Best wishes,

Andrew

As a bit of an experiment I stretched the sides of number 1.

What do you think - improvement?

That's better Bob To me the almost white vertical line on the left of the desk is a bit of a distraction... I'd fill it in the same shade as the floor?

You could make another picture out of it as well by cropping all the reflections out from the bottom of the desk ?

I'd add some more 'dark' to the top.

#1 with the stretched sides is the one for me. Superb.
