Need help with a photography quote

“Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop.” – Ansel Adams
I think bwlchmawr has that quote

You are right! He has two quotes:
"These places mean something and it's the job of a photographer to figure-out what the hell it is."
Robert Adams
"The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But, you have to SEE."
Ernst Hass

Mike
I knew you'd come up trumps.

Getting there! Thanks to you guys

I'm hoping someone can help me out. I heard a quote a few years back which stuck with me, but I can't remember who said it. I think it was Ansel Adams.
My daughter wants to use it in an essay, but needs to reference it.
The quote is (something like):
"All of these places mean something: It is the photographer's job to find out what".
A Google search hasn't turned it up. I know I haven't made it up.
Has anyone heard this?
Thanks.
