It wouldn't focus properly, but I'm not sure of the problem, blurry images, it would confirm focus but images blurry. Never did extensive tests

Just returned from holiday down south and message on answer phone saying awaiting parts to complete repair.
Fingers crossed it won't be too long

I'd never heard of any problem with this lens, until my problem.
Cheers

Test tonight, unfortunately it's easterlies into Heathrow today so no 1830 Singapore Airlines or 1900 Emirates arrivals to train the lens on

(these are the A380s).....
Two lenses returned from repair in the last week, the FA50 is like new

What's the status of yours alig?

OT - unless they have moved the western approaches to Heathrow quite a bit northwest maybe you should up date your location

Proud of my Welsh roots Gwyn....by the way how long will it be before Sciphol builds a new runway so far away from the main terminal that the Easyjet pilots joke "welcome to Belgium....we're passing through Poland now"....?

SDM works on friction though.
The motor has some kind of legs which vibrate in a special way on a surface and that makes it move.
So since there is friction there is also wear, all SDM lenses should be serviced because of that most likely.
Don't know how long they last though.
