contrast control flash

i have been looking out for a flash bracket and hot shoe adapter in india for my mz50 and af500ftz flash. but nobody seems to have these things here.
the af500 ftz flash when used with the built in flash is supposed to help in contrast control. would like to know whether anybody has used only the af500 ftz in TTL mode and switched to contrast control. what was the result.
in case i do not get the accessories plan to use the flash in this method. before that would like a few opinions.
