your backdrop supposed to be white? it looks a little warm on my monitor...
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Yes, Is it warm at your end because my monitor is showing white but a little bit grey in the bottom left (shadow)

my monitor calibrator is a huey

just looked at the raw file and it is different, the eye colour is spot on, could it be jpeg compression ??

I'm just curious as the background I see in the above picture is not white so maybe something you're doing in PP is shifting the colour balance. Do you convert to a different colour space when saving for use on web?

As I recall I work with PSD files in ARGB and when I save to JPEG for web use I convert to SRGB after being told here that my images were a little flat because the colour space wasn't ideal for the web.

MattMatic has recently explained his process which I followed.

Yes Mike I think your on to some think there

raw is in 16 bit and have to convert it to 8 bit when saving to jpg and then save for web so i will look at the settings in save to web.

mike where is the process you followed

James I will PM you with Matt's advice to me. It's a little tricky to follow as my questions and his answers are interleaved but I think you'll get the idea.

I have never used the save to web thing as I am a control freak.

I have the PSD file saved and safe
Flatten layers
Convert to sRGB
Resize
Unhsharp
Save to JPEG

If I want to send it to a printer much the same but I will use their ICM file for the conversion not sRGB.

Mike

PS the recent thread that might help is link.
Also bear in mind I am no expert on this Don, Matt, Ken and others are way out of my league.

There are insufficiently many wild horses in the West Midlands to drag me to a show at the NEC - I'd rather take photographs! But that's a very kind offer especially as I know I can be a rather grumpy old git!

Could we entice Don over with offers of drinks
